OB/GYN: Roy Pitkin, M.D.I have been experiencing severe morning sickness. When will it end?By Roy Pitkin, M.D.One of the most common symptoms of early pregnancy, commonly called "morning sickness," although it is not always limited to the morning. It can begin shortly after the time of the first missed menstrual period (i.e., about two weeks after conception) and it nearly always goes away by about 12- 14 weeks (i. e., the end of the third month). Occasionally it can last longer, in rare cases even until term, but persistence beyond the third month is unusual and should prompt a search for other causes.
