Q: Should I boil tap water when mixing powdered baby formula?

A: Bringing the water to a "rolling boil" for 10 seconds helps to sterilize it. If you don't want to boil the water, make sure to flush impurities from the pipes by running the tap for two minutes before using it. In all cases, only use the cold-water tap, since warm water can contain higher levels of lead.
