Your Baby Today

Diet & Nutrition: Linda Hsieh

Now that I'm caring for my new baby I hardly have time to prepare a home-cooked meal. I've been eating lots of frozen lunch and dinner entrees instead. Are these okay to eat regularly?

By Linda Hsieh

Caring for your newborn and yourself can be overwhelming. However, you can be confident that moderate consumption (no more than four times a week) of frozen lunch and dinner entrees can provide you with nutrition to help keep you healthy. To make a well-balanced meal, I recommend also including a fresh salad and/or fruit which will provide you with additional fiber and vitamins. In addition, to keep the sodium and fat levels down, compare labels on the boxes of frozen entrees to help you make a wise choice.
