Even the youngest baby is fascinated by kitties, and Bean, the black cat in this book, will captivate your child. Bean sleeps, skulks, and runs across sturdy, pocket size pages. Bean's Night is great for the under one set, because it has the recommended one simple picture per page, and high contrast, realistic artwork.
The text is super-simple, just a few words per page, which a tired parent will welcome. But it still rhymes: "Sun's up. Bean sleeps. Night comes. Bean creeps." Rhymes help build an infant's memory skills, because she'll eventually start anticipating the rhyming sound before you actually say it. Bean the cat has other low-key adventures in other books in the series, which include Bean, Bean's Games, and Bean Soup, which features a dog, too.
