The book has award-winning illustrations (the simple, vivid pictures recall Matisse). Each cut-paper figure is explained in simple, direct language, as it depicts animals, gravity, a glowing moon, and a rising tide.
The author, Debra Frasier, wrote the book when she was hospitalized prior to the delivery of her only daughter. Get a hankie, because the stories bring tears of joy.
As a bonus, baby receives a soft rattle (comes attached to the book) that has a donut shaped yellow handle, "Welcome" embroidered in yellow stars, and a red figure of a child dancing.
