KICK AND PLAY PIANOReviewed by: Rose KennedyPublisher/Manufacturer: Fisher-PriceSome version of this crib toy has been out for decades, with good reason. It's good, clean fun for babies, starting at birth. You tie the "piano" to the side of the crib at first, where newborns can first enjoy the 10 songs the battery-powered machine plays, and the star-shaped lights that "dance" to the music. The tunes are standard, stuff like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." Once your baby is older and pumping feet, she can kick at the soft padded keys. Each one will reward her with an animal or musical sound. This helps your baby build memory skills and learn simple "cause and effect." The first time your baby wakes up and activates the music while you're in the other room will delight you both, once you're done being startled. This is also a "grow with me" toy, because you can take the piano out and lay it flat to play once your baby can sit up. And it has a couple of practical assets: the cover comes off for handwashing, and the piano shuts off automatically to conserve the batteries. See next Product Review in this category
