THE MOTHER OF ALL PREGNANCY BOOKS: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO CONCEPTION, BIRTH, AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEENAuthor: Ann DouglasPublisher/Manufacturer: McMillan CanadaAt first glance, the title of this pregnancy book by Ann Douglas may elicit a raised eyebrow or two as you wonder whether it can really deliver. Douglas does deliver, over and over. In this 500-plus page guide, she takes the reader from preconception to delivery and then some. Douglas' tone is knowing (she's got four children of her own), authoritative (she's done her homework), humorous, and honest, which makes for a great read. She starts with issues that should come up before you even conceive, like how to know if you're really ready to have a baby, and how to get your body in shape for conceiving. Then, once you're pregnant, there's lots of helpful advice including info on finding Dr. Right and dealing with common and not-so-common pregnancy complaints. She really covers her bases by including a whole chapter on when you have difficulty conceiving (something she experienced) and when things don't turn out so great (she had a stillbirth). The Mother of All Pregnancy Books is a must-have for any expectant couple. See next Product Review in this category
