OB/GYN: Roy Pitkin, M.D.
Are tanning beds safe to use during pregnancy?
By Roy Pitkin, M.D.
Tanning beds cause no particular problem during pregnancy. But because pregnant women don't tolerate heat well, it's important that you spend only a small amount of time in one. I know nothing
about self-tanning lotions; their safety in pregnancy would depend on their composition.
