Q:I've developed horrible back pain 5 months into my pregnancy. Is it safe to have a chiropractor adjust you while pregnant? What about massage or acupuncture?
A: Chiropractic treatment in mid-pregnancy is generally okay as long as the chiropractor knows you are pregnant and avoids vigorous manipulation. X-rays should not be taken unless absolutely necessary. Gentle massage is fine, as is acupuncture.
