PLAY WITH THE TELETUBBIES
Publisher/Manufacturer: Knowledge Adventure
There's no rush to introduce your child to the computer. Experts say the test is whether your child is clamoring to examine the fascinating "toy," and able to sit up comfortably---and even then you wouldn't want to tire or overstimulate your child with more than a ten or 15 minute session. With all that said, Play with the Teletubbies is an ideal introductory software.
The Teletubbies are developmentally appropriate for the youngest toddlers in every way. They wear primary colors and move in a leisurely fashion, so the young eye can follow them. They have baby faces and speak in high-pitched, sweet voices---things babies really love. Within the program, you click on little "episodes." In one, you look for Teletubbie objects, in another, you help chase Noo-Noo around the Superdome.
Another plus are the "real life scenes" that play continually on the screens on the Teletubbies tummies, if you click there. And the mouse leaves a pink sparkly trail when you move it around, which can help an older infant practice hand-eye coordination.
